Terms of Use
Last updated
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Buron Sadiku, an individual developer based in Kosovo (“we”, “us”), covering the Daily Unload iOS app and this website (together, the “Service”).
By downloading or using Daily Unload, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Daily Unload on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which also applies to the app.
You may not:
- copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
- rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense it
- remove or obscure any proprietary notice
We keep all rights not expressly granted to you. You keep all rights to what you record.
2. Your account
Using Daily Unload requires an account, because your journal syncs between the app and our server. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.
You must be old enough to agree to these Terms where you live, and at least 13.
3. Your recordings are yours
Everything you record in Daily Unload — the audio, the transcript, the mood, the tags, and anything you ask your journal — is yours. We claim no ownership of it and take no licence to it beyond what running the service requires: storing your entries so they sync, and, if you switch the AI on, sending their text to our processors so the mood, tags and Ask answers can come back to you. That is described in full in the Privacy Policy. Your audio never leaves your device.
We do not read your entries, and we do not moderate them. They are encrypted before they are stored, with a key we hold outside the database — the service needs it to give your journal back to you — so this is a commitment and a safeguard, not a mathematical impossibility. What we will not do is look.
An entry you delete is purged, and once that has happened we cannot bring it back.
Only record people who have agreed to be recorded. Recording another person without their consent is unlawful in many places, and it is your responsibility, not ours, to know the rules where you are.
4. Sync is not a backup service
Your journal syncs so that signing in on a new iPhone brings your entries back. That is a convenience, not an archival guarantee: Daily Unload is not a backup service, and we do not promise that any copy will survive. Your audio exists only on your device and is never synced, so losing or wiping the device loses the recordings.
Anything you delete is gone, and deletion is designed to be permanent — see deleting your data. Keeping your own copies is your responsibility. The app can export your whole journal at any time, free, and iOS device or iCloud backups made under your own Apple Account are your other safeguard.
5. Free and Premium
The app is free to use. An optional auto-renewable subscription, Daily Unload Premium, keeps your full history and unlocks the features that read across it. The price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms are on the Subscription Terms page, which forms part of these Terms.
Payment is taken by Apple, not by us. Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. We cannot issue refunds.
6. AI features
The mood scores, tags, themes and Ask answers are produced by a third-party model, which receives the text of your vents once you switch the AI on. It is off until you do, it can be switched off again at any time in Settings, and with it off the app saves plain transcripts and Ask is unavailable. Weekly reflections are calculated on our own server from the moods and tags the model has already returned.
What comes back is an automated interpretation of what you said: not a statement of fact, not a professional assessment, and not always right. Treat it as a prompt for your own reflection, nothing more. We are not liable for decisions you take on the strength of it.
7. Not medical or mental-health advice
Daily Unload is a journaling tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric or therapeutic advice, diagnosis or treatment. Nothing in the app — including any mood score or AI-generated summary — is a substitute for care from a qualified health professional.
Do not disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of anything in this app. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. In the US you can call or text 988 at any hour.
8. Acceptable use
Use Daily Unload lawfully. Do not use it to break any law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to attempt to interfere with, probe or disrupt the app or this site.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue the app, the service behind it, or any of its features. The service depends on our server, third-party processors and the network, so we cannot promise it is always reachable; the app keeps working offline against the copy of your journal on your device, and syncs when it can.
If we ever discontinue the service, we will give notice in the app and leave enough time to export your journal.
10. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that transcription will be accurate, or that it will preserve your recordings.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, however caused. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Termination
You may stop using Daily Unload at any time by deleting your account, and the app with it. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 3, 4, 7, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kosovo, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Export control
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
15. Apple
This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim that the app infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The “last updated” date above shows when. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
